We were blessed to have a family over from the Middle East recently. During our visit, we were able to learn more of their story and build into our relationship.
But taking the Gospel often means going through the mess of the everyday life conversations as the Gospel impacts every part of our daily life. The Gospel isn’t one part of the Christian’s life, it is our very life. And so, through conversations of bad landlords, mold, and work challenges and new jobs, we were able to weave in the goodness of God, portions of the Gospel and testimony to God’s Work in our lives.
At one point, on of their children shared how a peer from their school said that Jesus had and approved of immoral friends. Our dear friend’s son asked the kid, “Do you have a Bible?” The kid said yes. “Then show me where it says that?”
The kid couldn’t find it, of course.
Our friend’s son said, “I haven’t read the Bible, but I figure since the Qur’an talks about it as a Holy Book, it shouldn’t support unholy things too.”
We were able to give a Bible to him and then one of them asked us, “Do you have a book with all the prophets in it?”
“Yes!” But we didn’t have it in the native language, so we are working on getting one, but we praise Go for His faithful work and the precious friendships and opportunities He gives us.
